How Dare You Enforce The Shutdown I Voted For!
Tonight I featured the legendary garage punk band Mudhoney on my radio program, the Fuzz Factory (http://fuzzfactoryblog.wordpress.com). One of the Mudhoney songs I played was a new song called Douchebags On Parade. I dedicated it to the GOP, who continue to grandstand while positioned in a circular firing squad. Almost all politicians act like douchebags on parade on a regular basis. However, today, on day three of the 2013 government shutdown, the douchebaggery was kicking on all cyliners. Specifically I am referring to the ignorant and unaware grandstanding that happened at the World War II memorial today. Yeah, this really happened.
HOW DARE YOU ENFORCE THE SHUTDOWN I VOTED FOR!
Uninformed Is The New Black
If you are a fully functional adult, there is no excuse for not knowing that Obamacare and the Affordable Care Act are the same thing. Obamacare is a nickname applied to the bill by the GOP. Unfortunately, many people still do not know this simple fact.
This funny segment from Jimmy Kimmel exposes this ignorance for what it is.
Elizabeth Warren Can Stay, The Rest Of You Must Go
Elizabeth Warren
“In a democracy, hostage tactics are the last resort for those who can’t otherwise win their fights through elections, can’t win their fights in Congress, can’t win their fights for the Presidency, and can’t win their fights in Courts. For this right-wing minority, hostage-taking is all they have left – a last gasp of those who cannot cope with the realities of our democracy.”
Bake Sale Tastes Like Ignorance
This bake sale sponsored by the Young Conservatives of Texas really reinforces the stereotype that young conservatives are overconfident and simple minded.

George Carlin
“Governments don’t want a population capable of critical thinking. They want obedient workers, people just smart enough to run the machines and just dumb enough to passively accept their situation.”
Tom Trebelhorn
“The last time the Cubs won the world series was 1908. The last time they were in one was 1945. Hey, any team can have a bad century.”
Warren Buffett
“It takes 20 years to build a reputation and five minutes to ruin it. If you think about that, you’ll do things differently.”
Joan Didion
“I write entirely to find out what I’m thinking, find out what I’m looking at, find out what I see to find out what it means.”
A Bad Case of Acute Hypocrisy
Hypocrisy is commonly part of the content of my work. I am fascinated by the contradictions between our thoughts and actions.
Here we have an amazing act of hypocrisy. This list shows the members of congress that accepted and benefited from government farm subsidies, yet voted against expanding the food stamp program.
Crackpot hypocrisy.

Simulation Rules!
“The famous Atlanta Underground…offers southern hospitality with a New Orleans flavor.” What the…? I wasn’t here in those days, but it seems so Atlanta to brag about how the attraction is based on a simulation of another place.
Then again, I feel like, in a nutshell, that’s what I feel the last 35 years of our culture has been all about. Simulation rules! My inner Baudrillard just got very excited.
Time has the power to shape the perception of everything. Watch these promotional videos from the 1980’s to see a great example of what I mean.
