The Final Night Of Preparation

Tonight is the last night of working in the studio for this exhibition. Tomorrow I load up the panel van and drive everything to the gallery. Once again, I survived the multitude of battles that take place in the studio of the artist. I plan to write more thoughts on that subject at a later date. For now, it’s showtime. Finally.

The artist is a brave soul. Creativity can give you whiplash. Making art is a constant battle with yourself.

After feeling like the nail all weekend, I found inspiration within one minute of work and suddenly I felt like the hammer again.

A Week In The Mountains

A month ago I left Atlanta and headed to the Appalachian Mountains for a week. I was headed to the Hambidge Center for the Creative Arts and Sciences (http://www.hambidge.org/studio-tour.html). Once again, it was an amazing experience I will always remember. The time and space given to me was invaluable. I only wish I could have stayed for more than a week.
